TGF's Double-Take Tuesday!

Hello!  I am hosting TGF's Double-Take Tuesday for this week!  I made a sketch.  Only the second sketch I've created in my entire life.  It's pretty simple so hope you can give it a try.

So I used James for my sketch.  The sentiment is from TGF's Sweet & Toxic set.  I used my Perfect Layers rulers for the black mats.

After I colored him up, I thought he reminded me a bit of Damon from The Vampire Diaries!  Yeah, a sign that I'm watching too much of that show.  But it's kind of addictive.  I'm somewhere in the middle of the 3rd season.

Alright, please check out TGF's blog for more challenge inspiration and details!

I have two cards to share today using stamps from The Craft's Meow and my set of Perfect Layers rulers.

This is the first card featuring Fall Fibi & Lilly.  I thought this was such a sweet image from the set and so perfect for Thanksgiving that is just around the corner.  I know I am getting all ready for Thanksgiving and prepping to cook lots of food.  I used the 1/16th inch ruler for these layers.  I know I seem to favor that thin layer a lot.  The sentiment is included in the set.  The paper and pearls are from Doodlebug, the swirls from MFT and the corners from La-La Land Crafts.

Here is a close up of Fibi & Lilly.  They are colored with Copics.

My second card features this cute little turtle from Turtle Love.  She is such a sweet looking turtle!  I used my 1/16th inch ruler again for the layer here.  I turned this into an interactive card.  It's not a spinner card because I didn't use a heavy penny for it to spin on its own.  I used some button dies and a little bit of twine and you can move the heart around the turtle.

Here's another photo with the heart in a different position.

A close up photo of the turtle.  Her pink hearts have some glossy accents on them.

This is the inside of the card and the sentiment is what inspired me to turn this into an interactive card and have the heart move around the turtle.  The thin border is 1/16th inch and the sentiment is matted with the 1/8th inch ruler.

Next on the hop is Lin.

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

A Perfectly Odd Blog Hop!!

Hello!  WELCOME to a Perfectly Odd Hop!  We have partnered up with the ladies from Some Odd Girl to bring you something fun and different!

We had the pleasure of meeting some of the Odd Girls at CHA in Vegas, and a collaborative event was an absolute NO-BRAINER!  Would the Odd Girls like to try out some fun tools?  Heck yes!  Does the Perfect Paper Crafting team want to play with some cute stamps?  Sure thing!  And it's a match made in heaven...

Today, both teams come together to bring you a fabulously inspiring BLOG HOP that will run through Sunday, November 17th.  There are 15 stops along the way including the main blogs, and PLENTY of inspiration for you to enjoy, so we hope you have as much fun as we've all had in this little partnership!

If you're not already familiar with Some Odd Girl, you are in for a TREAT!  They offer clear and digital stamps, cut files and new accessories, and they are cute and quirky to boot!  Once you see their unique style, you’ll always be able to spot them!

You should have arrived from Suzanne's blog, but in case you get lost or distracted along the way, here's the hop order:

Some Odd Girl blog
Perfect Paper Crafting blog
Suzanne Bier
Eva Uyeunten (ME!)
Alexis Kemp
Pam Sparks
Judy Bagwell
Wendy Ramlakhan
Jenn Cochran
Mary Pat Siehl
Katie Perry
Roxie Glaza
Kristy Dalman
Jenny Gropp
Leah l'Orange

Be sure to comment at EVERY stop and you'll be eligible to win one of TWO prize packs that include one Perfect Paper Crafting tool and one Some Odd Girl stamp set of your choice!

I made a couple of cards using Some Odd Girl's Under the Sea Mae and my Perfect Layers rulers.  I love this stamp set!  Not only are the girls gorgeous but that narwhal and sea horse are adorable.

This is my first card.  I paired a mermaid and a sea animal friend for each card.  I decided to use just a simple mat with my 3/16th width ruler.  I used some gelatos for the background after I embossed it with some swirls on watercolor paper.  Also added some gesso and stamped the shell on there as well but might be hard to see in this photo.  I added lots of sparkle and some rhinestones too.

Here is a close up photo.

This is my second card and I went with a similar design just different colors.  I love how this one turned out too.  I had a lot of fun coloring up these images and just experimenting with the backgrounds.

A closer photo of Mae and her sea horse friend.

And for additional inspiration, visit the Some Odd Girl blog all week to see how the Odd Girls combined their stamps with our Perfect Paper Crafting tools!  You might even see some guest appearances from some of our talented team!  You have until Sunday at midnight EST to leave your comments, and Some Odd Girl and Perfect Paper Crafting will each draw one winner, to be announced on Monday, November 18th.

Next on the hop is Alexis!

Have a Perfectly Odd day, and good luck!

Recently, I saw these layering tags dies and thought I really wanted those.  I love the look of layered tags so I used my Perfect Layers rulers to make some with My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers.

I have a tag die from Papertrey Ink so I used that as my smaller tag.  I glued that tag onto kraft cardstock and used my ruler to cut a 1/8th inch border around the whole tag.  I made 11 tags and put them together to create this mini Halloween tag album.  Hopefully, I will fill it with photos from this Halloween.

Here are some of the tags.  Lots of glittered paper in this Halloween set.

I love this tag because of the fun saying.  This was actually a sticker that was just a bit shorter than the PTI tag die so I placed the sticker onto cardstock first and cut it out with the die.

Another view.  Did I mention there is a lot of orange glitter on these papers?  A LOT.

Next on the hop is Roxie!

Thanks for stopping by!

TGF's Tutorial Thursday -- Interactive Card!

Hello!  I am so sorry for being such a lazy commenter these past few days/weeks.  I will try to get to commenting again.  I've been feeling lazy after doing the chores and errands.  I guess the busy time of the year is slowly creeping up again.  And to make my life more complicated, I had to get into a car accident a couple days ago.  We're okay but my car is a little dented so I need to get that taken care of.  I was a little ticked off that someone had hit my car (after I washed it and all!) but I couldn't stay upset with the driver.  He was so apologetic.  He apologized to me and my boys.  And I've been there in his shoes feeling the worse amount of guilt after I rear ended this elderly lady a few years ago.  But she was the nicest lady who wasn't even upset that I hit her.  So how could I stay mad at the driver who hit our car?  Hopefully, he isn't feeling too stressed or guilty about it.

Well, onto my card.  I made an interactive card using TGF's Hallo Witch.  You can find the tutorial on TGF's blog HERE.  I also used my Perfect Layers rulers to mat some of the papers.

I used the sketch above from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #170 and rotated it a bit.

Okay, that's it.  Thanks for reading!

Yumi & Fumi Handmade and Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop!!

Hello!  Welcome to Yumi & Fumi Handmade and Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop!  While making my card for this hop, it brought back fun memories of my time as a DT member of Yumi & Fumi Handmade.  Lots of fun coloring up these images!   As with all of our hops, please leave a comment on each blog to qualify for some awesome prizes.  There is a $50 gift certificate from Perfect Paper Crafting's online store up for grabs.  Yumi & Fumi Handmade is also offering 4 single stamps to 4 different commenters.  You will have until Monday, October 28th at 12:00 AM PST to leave your comments.  Good luck!

I'm in a Christmas mood already so I made a Christmas card.  It would be okay with me if we skipped Halloween and just went ahead to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

My card features the lovely Yeti Yumi.  I love her fluffy jacket!  I should also mention that I followed the Deconstructed Sketch #122.  The snowflake was created with MFT's snowflake die and cut out in felt.  The papers are from Doodlebug probably couple years back and the layers were all made with the Perfect Layers rulers.  Mostly I like to create thin layers and these rulers make that simple.

A little close up of Yumi and her fluffy jacket.  Edit:  just had to say that the mats are actually a dark green (PTI's pinefeather cardstock) and not black though they might look black.

Next on the hop is Rosemary!!

Thanks so much for joining in on our hop!  Don't forget to leave a comment so you can qualify to win one of the prizes!

TGF's Double Take Tuesday!

Hello!  There is a new Double Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm.  Melissa is the host and wants us to use the colors purple, green and black.  Sounds a bit Halloween-ish but it doesn't have to be.

I used Latte Anya and made a non-Halloween card.  Her hat is paper pieced and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  I also used my Perfect Layers rulers to create my mats.

A close up of Latte Anya.

Hope you'll all have a chance to play along!

Too cute to spook!

Hello!  Everything is falling apart!  I still haven't fixed my Big Shot.  I got the handle that Sizzix sent me but it doesn't fit because the bearing is actually broken on my machine.  So they are sending me that too but I don't exactly know how to change those out.  We'll see cause I'm up for a tutorial soon and I wanted to do something with my Big Shot.  I hope I get the parts in time.

And this morning I couldn't start up my computer.  I wake up early most days just to check what's up in blogland and my monitor actually died on me.  But my hubby switched my monitor out and now I'm online again.  I have such a strong addiction to the internet!

Anyway, last week I colored up some Tiddly Inks Wryns but only now have some time to post one of my cards.  I really missed seeing Wryn!  I made the card below for Tiddly Inks current Fall Challenge #95.

I used one of the new digis called Witchy Wryn.  She's cute!  I used my Perfect Layer rulers to create the mats.

A close up.  I wanted Wryn to have some fun purple hair.

I also followed this great sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #169.

Okay, I hope to be more productive this weekend.  I have some cards to make.  But we're also going to head out to the pumpkin patch this weekend.  Hopefully, it's not too hot or too dusty but what am I thinking, of course it's gonna be hot and dusty.  But the kids love to pick out pumpkins!

I'll be back tomorrow to share another Wryn card.  Thanks for reading!

Operation Write Home and Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop!!!

Hello!  Welcome to Operation Write Home (OWH) and Perfect Paper Crafting blog hop!  OWH is a wonderful organization that collects blank handmade cards for the military to send to their loved ones.  They have special requirements about what can go on the cards so if you'd like to join in and send in a few cards, click here for their blog and click the links for more info.

For this hop, Perfect Paper Crafting will be offering a $50 gift certificate to one lucky person who finishes the hop and comments on each blog listed below.  You can comment until Sunday, September 29th.  Good luck!

Here is the Blog Hop list.  If you get lost along the way, you can always head back to the start at OWH HERE.

Here is the card I created using one of the many sketches you can find on the OWH blog.  There are so many, I had a hard time deciding!

I used this cute stamp from Wild Rose Studio called Bella with Daisy.  The sentiment is also from Wild Rose Studio and is a simple Thinking of You sentiment.  I used my Perfect Layers rulers to create the thin yellow mats and make a cheery card.  Even with these mats and layers, this card is a standard A2 card and not too thick to send through the mail with regular postage.

Here is a close up of Bella.  I actually had this image stamped and colored for a while and didn't know what kind of card I wanted to make.  I think she is perfect for this hop!

The next person on this hop is Julie!

Hope you enjoy the hop!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

keep cozy

Hi!  Hope you're enjoying your day!  I always have a couple of quiet hours on Sunday when the kids are out.  So peaceful to do whatever it is I need to get done but the time goes by too quickly.

There is a new TGF sketch over at SCS.  Please check it out and play along.

I inked up and colored one of the new girls from Miss Anya Scarves.  Doesn't she look so cozy in all her winter wear?  Yeah, I've never had winter clothes like that.  Part of me thinks all that would make me itch.  Haha.  The sentiment is from TGF's Keep Cozy -- the one with all the cute snowmen.  The papers are all from Wild Rose Studio.  I love the colors!  I made the felt (from PTI) snowflakes using dies from My Favorite Things.  I also used my Perfect Layers rulers to mat my main image to the size I wanted.

This is one of my favorite dark purple Copic combos these days.  Looks grey doesn't it?  But it's purple!

Thanks for reading!

always live life ...

Hi!  Today is Saturday and time for The Greeting Farm's sketch over at SCS

Okay, I didn't copy the sketch exactly but that's the great thing about sketches.  You can make it your own!  I used Shiny Bean.  I stamped and cut her out and also cut out the sentiment that comes with her.  I added lots of bling!

I made this little cut out frame using oval nestabilities and my Perfect Layers ruler.  And I love these beans with pink hair!

Today, I'm gonna wait for the mail to see if my new TGF Big Anyas arrive.  Though maybe it's too early still.  I'm so anxious to get them.  Oh, but I did get super fun happy mail yesterday!!  A very sweet, sweet crafty friend sent us the cutest little penguin ever!  Would you like a peek?  Go see Handmade Cuties post HERE!  Go, I'll wait ....  Awesome and wonderful, right?  My daughter loves penguins, especially this little guy!  Thank you so much!

Alrighty, thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
