CC Designs January 2014 Preview -- Day 2

Hi again!  I have another sweet Valentine's image from CC Designs to share with you today.  All of these January images will be available for purchase on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 9 am CST.

This sweet gal is called Love Letter Lucy.  Isn't she so precious?  I colored her bright in red and pink so she could contrast with the kraft paper (from Doodlebug's Sweetheart paper pad) I wanted to use on this card.  The sentiment on the heart is from Adoring You.  The heart is a die cut from the Grunge Envelope die set.  I added the pink ribbon for a pop of color too.  I love the kraft with bright colors.

Here is a close up of Lucy.

Be sure to see what the rest of the DT has created too.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

All That Scraps January Preview

Hello!  It's the start of All That Scraps January Preview!  Today is Day 1 and I'm sharing some cute Meoples!  I love these Meoples!  They are so fast to color and you can make some fast cards!

This is the first card I have to share.  There are 3 images total in this Meoples set called Lucky Rainbow.  These are 2 of them.  The sentiments are from Lucky Sentiments.  I fussy cut them out and popped them up on this Reverse Wonky Rectangles card.

This is the third image from the Lucky Rainbow set.  Isn't she cute too?  This sentiment is also from Lucky Sentiments.  I used the Lucky Charms die set too which includes both four leaf clovers I used on this card and a horseshoe die.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations!  And link up in the January Banner Blog Giveaway too.

Thanks for reading and I'll be back tomorrow for another preview!

CC Designs January 2014 Preview -- Roberto's Rascals

Hello!  I know Christmas was just last week and it's not quite the New Year yet but CC Designs is moving on ahead to our next big creative occasion, Valentine's Day!  I know all you crafters like to plan ahead, and it was a fun break for me to make this Valentine's project after making all the Christmas stuff.

This sweet image is Roberto's Rascals Blowing Kisses.  I followed this tutorial to make this treat box.  The sentiment is from Adoring You and those hearts are a new die, Heart Border die from CC Designs.  And I got to use the new Doodlebug paper pad called Sweetheart.  I love the kraft papers in this pad.

Here is a close up of the heart shaped bubbles that I covered with Stickles.  Those red hearts are from the border die that I didn't want to just discard.

Please head over to the CC Designs blog to catch more of the preview.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CC Designs December Review --Snowman Flakes

Hello!  This will be a quick post as I am trying to finish up a whole lot of last minute things.  Where exactly does time go?  Though I guess I did a lot of procrastinating too!

It's December review time over at CC Designs.  Here is my snowflake ornament featuring Snow Flakes.  I actually bought a foam activity kit for kids from Walmart to make these snowflakes.  It was such a great deal and my youngest will be making his own along with his classmates on the last day of school.  Theirs will be a little different in that they will use their photo for the center of their snowflakes.  But I made this as kind of a sample for them and as something to hang on our tree too.  I tied on a tag and a little snowman button too.

Here's a close up of him.  He is so fast to color up.  You could make a lot of fast Xmas projects with this guy.

That's it for now.  Hope you are all getting your shopping done.  I think I am but now there is a lot of wrapping to do.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

All That Scraps Review -- CC Designs

Hello!  Just a quick post to share some little Valentine's Day treat holders.  Yes, I wrote Valentine's Day!  I know it's not Christmas yet but All That Scraps is way ahead of the game and has released some cute Valentine's stamps.

The Meoples are back!  This set is called Love is in the Air.  It comes with the three images here and some cute little conversation hearts kind of sentiments.

I added some glossy accents to the heart which doesn't show up here but looks super shiny in person.

Here's the girl.  The little holders are from PTI.  The hearts are from MFT.

I thought I'd save these to give to some teachers next year.  I know I'll have to make more.

I also wanted to share this.  It's exactly how I feel about exercise!  I love these ecards.  They always crack me up!

Thanks for reading!

CC Designs December Preview -- Swiss Pixies

Hello!  We're on our last day of previews for CC Designs December release.  I have a simple but fun card to share today.

This new image is called Pocket Birgitta.  Totally sweet in her winter wear.  The sentiment is from Freezin' Season and influenced my card design.  I punched that teeny snowflake next to the sentiment from some patterned paper with my hole punch.  I used my polka dots embossing folder and then used CC Cutter It's Snowing dies to cut out the snowflakes.  From this view it looks like I just glued the snowflakes on the card.

But I inlaid the snowflakes into the white cardstock so that they are flat.  I carefully put the white centers back in too.  I had to rotate the snowflakes til they were a perfect fit.

Here is a close up of Pocket Birgitta.  I did the same with those blue snowflakes.

This is the inside of the card.

Only a few more days til the end of school and Christmas.  I feel like I have lots to do still.  Hopefully I can get everything done!

Thanks for stopping by!

CC Designs December Preview -- Snowmen

Hello!  Welcome back to day 2 of CC Designs December preview!  Today we're sharing projects featuring some cute snowmen.

I made a set of 3 tags with coordinating colors.  The image is called Snowman Flakes and it's so fast to stamp and color and make some fun tags to add to your Xmas gifts.  These are kind of on the larger size too so everyone will know that's your present!  The sentiment on top is from Freezin' Season.  The To/From is from MFT.

Here's a close up of one of the snowmen.  I added some Stickles to his snowflakes.

Another view of the 3 together.

One more day of previews tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by!

All That Scraps December Preview -- CC Designs

Hello!  I'm excited to share All That Scraps December Preview.  Today we're sharing CC Designs images.  They are so cute!

This card features PJ Emma, Moon (comes with the yellow stars as well) and the sentiment is from Starry Sentiments.  The sentiments are all so sweet!  I didn't know which one to pick but they all go so nicely with the Moon image.  And PJ Emma is so cute!

There are so many cute images this release!  So please check out the ATS blog to see what the DT has come up with!  This release will be available December 6th.

Thanks so much for reading!

CC Designs December Preview -- Roberto's Rascals

Hello all!  Time for more Roberto's Rascals from CC Designs December release preview.  The new release will be available Thursday, December 5th at 9 AM EST.

My card features the fun and cute Skating Twila.  The sentiment is from Freezin' Season.  We don't have snow days here but once we did have a rain day where it was raining so much, they cancelled school.  It's kind of like today, where it is pouring rain outside and the roads are flooded.  But we still managed to go out and get our Christmas tree!  We wrapped it in a tarp on top of our car roof and brought it safely home.  The snowflake die and the icicle border die are available now in the CC Designs store.  These are quickly becoming a couple of my fav dies to work with for these winter cards.

Here is a close up of Twila.  I added lots of Stickles in the background and on the snowflake die cuts for some glittery-ness.

On a side note, I am guest-ing over at Chi Chi Memories for the next couple of months.  I'll be sharing a weekly project every Friday on my blog here but you can check it out now on the Chi Chi Memories blog HERE.  They have some cute digi stamps!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

All That Scraps November Review

Hello!  It's another review week at All That Scraps.  I chose to use the Birdie Day stamp set again because there are so many different images and sentiments and could be used for so many occasions.  It's perfect for every day cards/notes too.

I made a simple card that could be used along with a baby gift or house-warming gift too.  I thought I'd add my own little egg.  It's actually the center of a letter die cut.  I colored it up with Copics, cut a small slit through the nest and slid the egg in just a bit.  The birdies were cut with the coordinating dies.  The sentiment is also from the Birdie Day stamp set.

Please head over to the ATS blog to see some cute inspiration by the DT.

Thanks for reading!

CC Designs November Review

Hello!  With all this Thanksgiving prep and Xmas planning I almost forgot to post this.  It is time for a review of CC Designs November release.

Here is my project featuring Roberto's Rascals' Cocoa Cuddles.  I made a little giftcard holder following this tutorial from SCS.  You can never have enough giftcard holders during Christmas.  The sentiment is from Christmas Verses II and I added on the holly & berry die.

Here is a close up of the image.  This was actually the second one I colored since I didn't like the way I did his hair the first time.  His hair reminded me of a hedgehog so I did it again.

Here is how it pulls out to reveal the gift card.  Sorry about the glare!  The gift card holder die and the to/from/$ stamps are from MFT.  Such a great investment if you're going to be giving away a lot of gift cards!

I have a few more things I am working on.  Just can't seem to find the time these days.  Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Holidays!

Hello, hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.  We tried Eva's method of turkey in a bag, and it actually turned out pretty good.  Although I think the turkey breast could use some butter or something...hopefully one day if my daughter outgrows her milk allergy I can try that.  But finally I had some time to craft while Grandma kept the kids occupied.
Anyhow, here is my first holiday card finally, and the month of November is practically gone.  This Sister Stamp is so cute!  Thanks Eva for getting it for me (she's my Hawaii connection!)  It took me forever to color since it was difficult to get uninterrupted craft time.  Plus I was trying to figure out how to color with Copics.  I actually took the plunge and bought 5 Copics, only in the skin tones and cheek color, although I don't think I colored cheeks in this one.  I went to Michaels practically every day with a coupon to buy one Copic at a time.  I think I'm pretty much going to stop there with the Copics, because I think they're hard to use!  I had to color the faces twice, because I couldn't blend the colors nicely so I think I just used the one color in the end.  The rest of it was colored with pencils.

Pretty simple after that, just cut the image out and mounted it on patterned paper.  I thought the patterned paper was kind of busy so I didn't really add anything else except the banner with the sentiment, although it still looks kind of empty up there in that corner.  Oh well, I had to move on, so many Xmas stamps, so little time!

And here's one of my proud mommy photos.  Excuse the strange disguise, had too much fun in Photoshop Elements.
But my son and I have spent so many weekends going to chess tournaments for the last year or so.  Not that he's Bobby Fischer or anything, but since he started with his school's chess club in kindergarten, he has done reasonably well at our local scholastic chess tournaments.  So surprising since I don't like playing chess and am not very good at it, I feel kind of bad that I can't really play against him at home since he always beats me!  Anyhow, this is him after spending all last weekend at one of the bigger chess tournaments.  He was so happy to win a trophy (21st place).  Lucky for him they gave out 30 trophies, usually it's 20, but this tournament had about twice as many kids as usual in his section.  Anyhow, I was happy for him too since he had to play in the section with 1st through 3rd graders and after the first day, he was bawling his eyes out after losing the last game.  He was even 60-something going into the 2nd day, I didn't know if he even had a chance at a trophy.  I think as a parent, I was getting an ulcer for him.  I used to laugh about those parents who had kids in sports and took things so seriously, but I now I know why!  Even as a chess parent, I'm like checking the rankings after each game and trying to estimate where he and the school would end up for trophies.  It doesn't help when most of the other parents are like that too!  Anyhow, excuse my long rambling, I could go on forever about my kids!  I will actually have more to post later too, I think I got quite of bit of cards done yesterday (well, actually 2 and a half which I thought was great for me).

Naughty or Nice????

Hello!  I have a terrible addiction these days.  Not to stamping or coloring or card making but to watching The Vampire Dairies.  Anyone watch that?  I started watching the episodes while I was walking on my treadmill.  Kind of needed something to past the time while I pretended to exercise.  Now I'm totally hooked.  But it's bad because now I just watch that instead of exercising.  It's so much more enjoyable just to watch something without having to sweat.  So I may be falling a tad behind on crafting.  Hehe.  I will have to force myself back to reality soon.

Here are a couple of post it covers that I made.  You might have seen it at All That Scraps recently.

They're a little different looking.  The one on the left has a little notch in it.  I made that one first after I had seen a little note thingy that we got in the mail.  I liked the idea of the pen being tucked inside like that and I just copied it including that notch.  But then I realized I don't really need that notch so I took it out of the second one that I made which is on the right.  I like it better just square and it's much easier to make.

I put the Naughty or Nice? sentiment from CC Designs Funny Christmas Sayings on the spine.  Thought it would be cute to use these for list making.  Santa is also from CC Designs Meoples No Peeking.

Here's view of the inside.  Bought these pens from where else, Walmart!

Another view.

I'm looking forward to this week.  I love eating turkey but only for Thanksgiving!  And maybe Christmas.  I plan on cooking so I'm actually starting tomorrow.

By the way, I also have a post up at Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts featuring some of the new winter themed stamps which will be released on November 26th.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

CC Designs November Review

******************************************************************************

Hello!  TIme for a review of CC Designs November release.  If you're looking for some cute Christmas and winter stamps, check out CC Designs newest release HERE.

Here is my card featuring Fuzzy Boots and Snowy Wall.  I particularly like this card.  Sometimes I make something and I really like it.  Other times it's just okay.

It's an easel card and it opens up like this.  The sentiment might be hard to read but you can click on the photo to enlarge.  The sentiment is from Christmas Verses II and I heat embossed it in red.  The snowflakes and the icicle border can be found HERE and HERE.  I added some Stickles to the snowflakes, icicle, on the snowy parts of the wall and the fuzzy parts of her boots and cap.  The funny thing is that when I first made this card I forgot all about the snowflake and icicle dies.  It looked kind of plain.  The dies just changed the look of it all.

Here is a close up Fuzzy Boots.  I tried to do that reflecting thing with the light and not quite sure if it looks okay.  Yeah, gotta practice.

I'm super excited about next week and Thanksgiving.  I don't know why but I like to make the turkey and everything else too.  Even in our small little kitchen and small stove and takes me all day cause I have to cook everything literally one at a time.  But it's so yummy in the end.  Well, at least to me.  Only 1 out of our 3 kids like eating turkey and my hubby is just kind of neutral towards it.

Thanks for stopping by!
