Hello! I finally was able to squeeze in some time to play with Some Odd Girl's Winter Friends stamp set. The set has some of the cutest penguins! I have to admit that I have a lot of penguin stamps. My daughter loves them so every time I see a cute penguin stamp I almost always get them.
It is almost my daughter's birthday so I made the usual square corner bookmark using the smaller of the 2 penguins in the set. I make bookmarks for my kids' birthdays instead of cards so they can use them and not just stow them away. The penguin is purple because that is my daughter's favorite color. Give her a purple penguin and she's good to go!
I added a paper pieced bow that also comes with the set. The sentiment is heat embossed and I added a red felt heart over the solid one that comes with the set. I added some Stickles too.
I followed Some Odd Girl's most recent challenge and sketch.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

We're Back!
Hello! Finally back from our vacation. And it's really nice to be home though our kids wanted to stay at Disneyland forever. We visited other places too so our trip lasted almost 2 weeks and boy, we (mom and dad) are wiped out. I think maybe a week is more manageable. We (actually, my hubby) had to do laundry while on vacation. Fighting over 3 or 4 washers was not fun. But we did get to hang out with Cheryl and her family which is always nice since our kids get to play together. We don't live in the same state anymore so getting together is a rare treat.
I did miss checking blogs and participating in challenges especially week 1 of TGF's Royalty Contest. Gosh, those new princesses are so cute!
Anyway, I had to make a quickie card for my youngest. He just turned 3 years old after our vacation which is a good thing since he was free to most of the attractions.
I made him another bookmark/card using this Little Luke digital image (there is also a rubber stamp) from Stamp and Create. Sales of this image benefit Luke and his family (www.prayforluke.com). My boys love anything Star Wars and lightsabers so thought this was perfect for him. I kept it pretty simple since I didn't have much time. Just enough time to color and paste it down.
I'm hoping to get back to crafting soon. Thanks for reading and have a great week!

4
Hi! Just dropping in to share a simple corner bookmark that I made for my youngest one's 4th birthday. He is so excited and counting down the days on the countdown calendar I had made a while ago. I think he had started at about 40 something days and would ask is 40 a long time? Yes! Now, it's less than a week!
Sometimes instead of a card, I'll make a corner bookmark for my kids' birthdays. Just cause it's something functional and practical and not a card that they'll just stash on the side. The big 4 is a PTI die cut.
I love this guy! He and his birthday hat are from Paper Smooches Party Posse. The heart balloon is from Paper Smooches Smoocheroos. My kids love him too. He's so round and squeezable looking.

Oliver's Summer Vacation
Hi! This is my last traveling summer journal. I made this for my older son. He loves this TGF stamp of Oliver holding the dinos because he loves dinos too. I used the sketch over at TGF's Farm Fresh Challenge Which One Wednesday for the cover of his journal.
I had specific instructions from my son to color Oliver's dinos just like his. So I used my son's toy dinos as inspiration.
See? My son and his dinos.
Here's the title page. Similar to the one I made for my daughter. I used some fun green binding instead of silver though.
I also used this Oliver stamp to make a bookmark for my younger son. And he wanted to copy his brother so pretty much used all the same colors to color Oliver and the dinos.
The bookmark in action. He had been asking for a bookmark to copy his older siblings.

The days seem to be flying by. I can't believe the school year is almost over and I haven't done everything yet. Time for some late nights I suppose.
Thanks for reading and have a great week!
metal stamped bookmark
Hello! I was really trying to be good today and start exercising again but I just could not get my laptop going so that I could watch a show while on my elliptical. Maybe I was having a bad connection with Netflix but I know my laptop is also old and probably gonna conk out soon. After about 20 minutes trying to fiddle with this and that, I gave up! I had my shoes on and everything! Oh well, maybe tomorrow.
Today's post is so fun for me. It's more metal stamping but this time on actual metal instead of wood.
This is an aluminum bookmark that I stamped for my daughter. It's a little smudgy looking after she used it. I should've taken a picture before I gave it to her when it was all nice and polished. I even stamped her name on the bottom but I smudged it on here. I made 2 small purple pom poms too for fun.
Here is a close up of the quote I stamped. Funny? I messed up a bit on the heart on the bottom but that is why I need practice. But overall I'm pretty happy with how this turned out considering it was my first metal project. It does require a lot more elbow grease to polish and do the stamping than paper crafts but the outcome of the project is so worth it.
I don't think I have another project to share after this. I'm trying to recover from a cold and so my crafting has slowed down as well. Hopefully I'll have more to share soon!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
