from the bottom of my heart

Hi!  I thought I would squeeze in a quick post before I go do my first school pick up of the day.  TGF has a new sketch over on SCS and my card today was inspired by it.

The sketch was created by our Challenge Captain Peggy Toole.

This is my simple take of the sketch.  I used TGF's Blush Thanks and heat embossed it on a Cheery Lynn Heart diecut.  Then I also stamped and heat embossed those spots on the edges of the heart using TGF's Splotchy set.

A little close up.  I added some pearls too.  The base of the card was impressed with PTI's woodgrain impression plate.

I hand wrote the sentiment on PTI's tag die cut and added that pretty flower I recently bought from Taj, a local store here.  The leaves are from Maya Road.

I'm trying to be better about mentioning the actual products I use but I'm not in the habit of listing the Copic colors I used.  If that is something you want to know, leave a comment or email.  I'll try to better about it.  Just that after I color I just toss the pens back in the container!

Anyway, hope you join in on the sketch!  Click HERE for the link and the keyword info.

Thanks for reading!

happy birthday

Hello.  I was thinking Eva would post something soon, but she must be having a busy summer...

Here's a birthday card that I made for the latest Farm Fresh Friday challenge, using ribbon.  And based on the Saturday Sketch on Splitcoaststampers.

It's a little strange that all the cards I've made recently end up at Eva's house!

You might be wondering where the ribbon is, but I read "twine" somewhere in the challenge description and went with that instead since I wanted to tie some tags on.  Anyhow, this was my first time coloring up Logan, usually I try to pick characters that sort of look like or remind me of the recipient, but don't really know many boys with curly hair.  Tried to color the hair strands straighter, but oh well.  Used Papertrey Ink cardstock in kraft, aqua mist, ocean tides, dark chocolate, and vintage cream, plus their patterned paper, happy birthday stamp and tiny tags die.  The background woodgrain stamp is from Hero Arts stamped in vintage photo distress ink.  I stamped the character in brown ink instead of black, and was almost tempted to not color him at all...which maybe would have been smarter since my blue pencil was kind of bright for the card. Hmm, I stuck on all the little stars thinking the rectangle was a little bare, but maybe that was overkill...

Anyhow, hope everyone is having a good summer, it's getting way too hot around here.

So in love with you

Hi!  Wow, I think it's been a while since I blogged!  It's the summer and though I've been crafting when I can, I haven't been blogging much.  Just trying to take it easy til summer school starts for the kiddies.  And my internet is driving me crazy and sorry I haven't been commenting regularly.  I did finish up a card for today.  I used TGF's SCS sketch 16.

This little girl is from TGF's Sweet & Toxic set.  I've used the boy before but I don't think I've ever stamped/colored this one up.  I had a lot of fun coloring her.

I've had these papers Echo Park papers for a while too.  I really liked the sentiment too!  Now that I look at this photo, is it blurry?  Sorry!

I think that is it for me.  I have some more pinwheels to make for my youngest one's birthday goodies.  Thanks for reading!

all my heart

Hi!  Hmm, ever feel kind of uninspired?  Or maybe too overwhelmed to create?  Sometimes there are so many cute stamps I want to color up or so many fun challenges I want to participate in that I can't get myself to pick one and get started.  I knew I wanted to participate in Anyone for Anya's Girly Girl Challenge and to use the current TGF sketch 13 at SCS but I don't know if I absolutely love what I created.  Oh well.

I decided to use TGF's Daisy since I hadn't even trimmed her yet.  I know, I still have a few more to use that are still untrimmed.  I do love how bright-eyed she is.  Oh, and while I was coloring her, I thought her hair reminded me of Kate from Jon & Kate Plus 8.  You know, it's all flat in the front but really poofed up in the back.  I was really sad when they got a divorce.  I mean, poor babies!  Anyway, I slapped on some flowers and heart rhinestones I picked up from Walmart.  They had lots of different shaped/colored ones so I picked up a few.  It's too hard to decide which one NOT to buy so I buy at least one of every style.  Hehe.

Yeah, I like her, she's a cutie.  You know what other show I'm kind of addicted to?  Long Island Medium.  It's so fascinating.  I mean, wow, how does she know all that stuff and to communicate with the dead?  Kind of creepy but neat at the same time.  Plus she has a really likable personality, I think.

Anyway, I don't think I talked much about crafting in this post.  Haha.  But thanks for reading anyway!

You're an angel

Hi!  I'm hoping this will be a quick post cause I want to sleep!  So let's get all the challenge info out of the way.  Pretty interesting and convenient that TGF and Young Crafters Unite would both have a No Coloring challenge.  It was a nice change of pace to not have to color.

Oh, I'm also using Veronica's Sketch from TGF's Saturday Sketch over at SCS.  I liked this sketch.  Pretty and manageable.

Here is my card.  I know I said I wouldn't photograph at night anymore but otherwise I might miss the TGF deadline.  I used TGF's Angel Anya and did a bit of heat embossing with her.  I made yet another cloudy background.  I'm addicted, I think.

I added some stickles to her halo and wings and added a tiny pink bow.  The sentiment is also from TGF that I picked up during their Farmers Market sale.  I love those sales!

Okay, I think it's a record time for posting for me.  I'm gonna link up and then go to bed.  Thanks for reading!

{wink}

Hi!  I think I'm getting faster at making cards.  It only took me a few hours during Saturday to finish this one.  Sometimes I take a couple of days to finish the cards/projects that are a bit more involved.  So again I'm playing along with TGF's SCS Saturday Sketch #5.  Thankfully the sketch was more manageable for me this time.

I took these photos at night so I'm thinking the lighting was not too good.  I decided to go with TGF's Elena, another stamp I hadn't inked up yet.  I love her clothes and hair and her *wink*.  I also used papers that I've had for a while and I can't quite remember the name of this company.

I stamped the letters for wink using PTI's Simple Alphabet, cut them out and just kind of glued them without wanting them to be lined up perfectly.  I added some glossy accents to her sunglasses and bling too.

I finally used some ribbons and flowers that I've had a for a while too.

There wasn't much critique of this card from the hubby today.  I guess it was okay for him.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Miss Anya Garland

Hi!  I finally have my own Miss Anya Garland set!  I'm so thankful and lucky to have won it from Rinne's blog during the giveaway by TGF.  These stamps are so pretty, probably my favorite Miss Anya set now.  So thought I'd play in TGF's Saturday sketch #4 over at SCS and it's been a while since I inked up some TGF stamps.

I don't know why but this sketch was difficult for me.  Maybe I was thinking too hard so I just simplified it and didn't go with too many layers.

I chose to ink up Miss Anya with the hearts first.  Love her short hair and her chain of hearts!  Yeah, I colored her again in my favorite BG Copic combo (BG13, 15 & 18).  It's the only combo I have right now.

I also used TGF's Blush Heart, Blush Hello and Splotchy sets.

Sorry, I think this photo might be a little blown out.  I also added some stickles and glossy accents to the hearts.  She has some glossy accents on her headband too.

Thanks for reading!

Sprinkle a little twinkle

Hi!  So after making my "brown" card in the previous post, I felt a need for some color.  Hehe.  I think this card came out bright and fun.  It is for a couple of challenges.

The first is a new challenge blog that I came across called Sweet Stamping Pixies Challenge.  The theme for the first challenge is spring and you have to use a pixie, fairy or sprite stamp.

I also used The Greeting Farm's SCS Saturday Sketch #8.

I used TGF's Fairy Eva.  Hehe.  Of course you have to buy the stamps that have the same name as you.  I think this may be the first time I colored her up, though I have stamped her before.  She also now has a mini me in TGF's Fairy Princess clear stamp set.  That would be cute if they were on the same card like a mommy and a daughter.

I did some masking with Fairy Eva.  Also made the sky using PTI's cloud die.  I love how soft the sky turned out.  The sentiment is also from the Fairy Princess set.  I lightly colored in the edges of her wings and added stickles.

Well, today is the last day before the kids go back to school tomorrow.  And it's back to early wake up days so no more late night crafting for me.  I really enjoyed staying up late to craft.  I better not get too carried away blogging today either since I am doing laundry again and got a pot of corned beef on our small stove.  I don't want to forget about them!

Thanks for reading!

best friends

Hi!  I really love the new Beans over at The Greeting Farm!  They are soooooo adorable with their little round bellies and fun hair!  I was wondering which one I should color first and use on a card when I saw the Best Friends sentiment from TGF's Flutter Heart set.  Then I knew I should put both of them on the card because they are Best Friends!  But what do I color them?  I knew I wanted one to have pink hair.  Then I saw iCopic's Weekly Challenge #73 -- V Family and so Glimmer Bean has purple hair!  I used the sketch over at TGF's SCS Saturday Sketch #7 to help me with the card.

So here's Glimmer and Shimmer Bean!  I love how bright this turned out.  I have to say they were fast to color up and fun too.  I didn't want all the extra images that were around each of the beans so I just cut around my image leaving a tiny bit of white border.

I've had these paper scraps for a while and thought they fit them so nicely.

I actually curved each of the Beans so they were a bit more rounded on the sides and not just straight.  I added lots of dimensionals on this card under the Beans, the circle layers and the tags.

After, I realized this card matches the colors on our blog.  I wonder if we could put them on our blog header.  Hehe.

It's the first day of Spring Break for the kiddies so I hope the weather holds up.  Thanks for reading!

Love ...

Hi!  Today's a new day.  I realize that I am not only a stress eater but a stress cleaner!  I finished off the chocolate covered almonds from Costco (I shared some too!) and managed to clean all our bedrooms, sheets, fans, carpets and did all the laundry too.  But I had to stop vacuuming because our vacuum just shuts off by itself.  It's been doing that everyday.  I vacuum a room and then it shuts off by itself!  Frustrating.  We need a new one.

Well, I did manage to finish a card!  TGF is now having sketch challenges over at SCS!

I chose to use TGF's Flutter Anya.  I haven't used this stamp very much so thought I'd give her some attention.  I've been trying to use stamps that I haven't even inked up yet before buying even more stamps.  My hubby said this card looked very busy.  I guess he is a clean and simple kind of card guy but sometimes I like to really embellish my cards.

I chose to color her in varying shades of red for iCopic's weekly challenge #67 -- red love.  I added some glitter to her wings.  I actually used some of my son's glitter glue and stickles.  There's some glossy accents on the hearts on her wings.  I added a love charm and a heart die cut from PTI's tiny tags.  The butterflies are from Martha Stewart and the leaves are also from PTI.

I'll also be entering this into Flutter By Wednesday challenge #188.
