Papertrey November Blog Hop Challenge

So this is my first time ever in participating in a blog hop of any kind, especially for PTI so it makes me a little nervous.  Hahaha.  Usually I'm just a commenter.  I love to look at other people's blogs--such amazing ideas and projects.

These might look familiar.  I made something similar HERE.  I kind of tweaked it a little since the first one I made was a tight squeeze for the tags I made.

The tags fit better this time because I left more space above.

It also helps that this matchbook cover doesn't fold flat.

I started with a 3.5 x 8.5 inch cardstock.

I scalloped one edge and then scored it a 3/4 inch, 4.5 inches and 4.75 inches.

I used the pocket die to hold the labels and taped that about 1/2 inch above the score line closest to the scalloped edge.  I added thin tape below the scallop edge and folded that over for the cover to slip into.  You may have to trim the cover just a bit for the cover to slip in nicely and not push the tape down too much--if that makes sense.

I love the Tiny Treats series.  The images are so cute!  I used the Xmas one for these tags.  I used the Fillable Frames die #9 and the stamp set.

Snowflakes!  Five tags fit nicely in the pocket.  You could make this matchbook longer and add more pockets to add more tags.  This is a nice stocking stuffer size.

I love this one because it's pink!  The paper obviously isn't a PTI product but I wanted to try a nontraditional Xmas color.

Everything here is from PTI except for the red and green baker's twine, the pink candy paper, one tiny rhinestone in the snowflake that's on the cover and the scallop punch I used.  I also used my copics and white gel pen.

Thanks so much for reading and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Keep Cozy

Hi!  I think I have Christmas on my brain.  So when I saw the latest Farm Fresh Friday Challenge at TGF, I really wanted to use the snowmen from their Keep Cozy set.  And also because the challenge is "white out" or a white theme, it reminded me of snow (snowmen), although it doesn't snow here.  I was lucky enough too that my Keep Cozy set came in the mail on Saturday.  Just in time!  So I decided to make some tags using all the snowmen.

I used PTI's tag sale die and stamped the sentiments that come with the Keep Cozy set before embossing the tags with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots folder.  I colored their carrot noses, added some bling for buttons and some glossy accents on some parts of each snowman (earmuffs, top hat and mittens).  I cut out the cute snowmen and popped them up with dimensionals.  I added stickles on the raised dots of the tags.  You can click the photo for a close up.  I have to say that trying to photograph this was kind of tough.  It's either too much glare or the colors get blown out or can't see all the accents.  So finally, I think this was the best I could do.

Now I have to get going on my art journal assignment.  I think my daughter has given up or actually doesn't have much time for it anymore in her schedule.  She is busier than I am.

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

Graduation Lei Tags

Hi again!  This is the last project I made with Sister Stamps Graduate.  In Hawaii, we give leis for a lot of special occasions especially graduation.  But it's hard to remember who gave you which lei especially if it's a handmade yarn lei or candy lei.  So I like to put tags on the leis.

So here are some simple tags that can be tied onto leis.  I made 3 different colors to match whatever school's colors.  These tags and sentiments are from Lawn Fawn.  I did a little bit of masking so the image would just be in the inside of the tag and not extend to the outside border.  But these are fast to make since there is no coloring involved.

That's it for my Graduate projects.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

PTI Tag & Frame Challenge

Hi!  Wow, it's not late at night and I'm actually done with this PTI challenge.  See HERE for the details.  I had some time to make my tag & frame in between playing Lego and Search & Find and eating lunch and taking a nap.  My 2 year old was so accommodating today!

Here's the tag I came up with.  I'm kind of stuck with this pink/green color combo.  I used Tag Sale 3 die which I really love because of it's size and that little embossed border.  For this project, I actually popped out all the little dots along the border and sewed a pink border with some embroidery floss.

Closer picture.

I have some Fillable Frames but I thought I'd make a frame like how Nichole did in her post with the circle dies.  I used Nesties Labels One dies which match the shape of the stamp in Tiny Treats Valentine to cut my frame.  The sentiment is from All About You.  The You is stamped on vellum.

The frame is popped up a bit.  Not sure if you can see that clearly.  Added some ribbon, lace, bling, and a flower and I was done!  I'll be ready for the next challenge!  Though I wonder if I should make another Go-To Sentiment card.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all win a PTI prize?  Just a lucky few, I suppose.  Thanks for reading and yay, it's Friday!  Have a great weekend!

Penguin Love

Hi!  Cheryl has a post below this too.  I made this kind of last minute until 2 in the morning.  I don't know what I was thinking.  Usually I don't stay up that late to make a card.  I was feeling kind of restless again and thought I should make something since I haven't for a while, and I wanted to participate in Claudia & Co.'s tag challenge too.

I used Puddle Jumpers Winter Ella from Claudia & Co. because my daughter has a love for penguins.  I didn't get a chance to make her a card with this stamp at Xmas time so I figure now is a good time.  I know it's kind of Xmas-y but I think it would be good for Valentine's too.

Tag is a Spellbinders die and the snowflakes were cut in felt with Die-namics dies from MFT.  If you look closely, there is a whole lot of shine on the card.  Maybe a bit too much.  I wanted to try the Frost Shimmer Spritz.  That is mostly on the red tag.  I also sprayed on the Sparkle Shimmer Spritz but it really shot out all over Ella.  There is also some Stickles on the snowflakes and white felt heart that I just cut out myself.

There's the little penguin that my daughter loves so much!

Thanks for reading!  Have a great week!

PTI Tag Challenge (2)

Hi!  This is my second project for PTI's Tag Challenge.

So it's official--I've completely lost my mind.  I'm getting a little sleepy so this post may be incoherent.  It took me so long to make this tag.  Why?  I just didn't know what to do with all the elements I had.  But I finally got the tag together.

I have a couple of weddings to go to this year so thought I'd make this tag either to stick on a gift or on a card base that I can put together later.  It's 2 tags (tag sale 3 die) in pink and red, one placed over the other to duplicate the hearts.  I lost one of the little border dots on the pink tag.  I stamped the sentiment from Simple Sentiments on one of the banner diecuts.

I think that is it for me.  Must sleep now.  Thanks for reading!

Mini Tag Album

Hi!  I'm back (sort of) from being sick the past few days.  My New Year's Eve was spent trying to sleep early though I had a fever and some chills.  I feel better tonight to at least post my project for TGF's Retro-Fresh Tag ... You're it Challenge.  Now that Christmas is over and the New Year has begun, I'm faced with the next big milestone in my daughter's life.  She will be graduating from 5th grade and moving on to middle school this fall.  Seems like a long time off but I know it will come too quick like all special events do.  It makes me a bit sad and worried and I hope she transitions well into 6th grade and her new school.  I'm always worried about her making new friends.  I know she's got quite a brain on her but socially, I'm not too sure what's going on.  I'll be happy if she meets 1-2 really good friends that she can rely on.

Oh, did I mention how bright she is?  I truly do not know where she gets her brains from.  It is definitely not from me nor my hubby though we would really like to think it is from one of us.  She can read a book so fast and we're talking thick, a few hundred pages kinds of books and still retain the info.  That's definitely not me.  But I'm glad that she has found her talent early and that is what she enjoys.

Anyway, sorry so much blabbing and bragging about my daughter.  Hehe.  I'll introduce my tag album!

I cut some tags using PTI's tag sale die.

Then I knew Annika would be perfect because this is one of my very first TGF's stamps and I bought it because it reminded me of my daughter.  See her books too?

Kindergarten.  (sorry, I had to conceal her face).

First grade.  (The grade sentiments are from PTI as well).  You can see how her hairstyle changes through the years.

Second grade.

Third grade.  I made some cork embellishments.

Fourth grade.

And her current 5th grade year.  Yeah, she's got some wild hair going on here.  Her used to be so fine and straight.  I don't know what happened!

The last tag is for me to write a little note to her and give to her on graduation day!  On the back of each tag, I hope to write down some memories from each of her grades.  I asked her if she remembered anything special from each grade and she said no.  Geez.

Being sick, I didn't get to make a special New Year's Day card though I had something in mind.  Maybe I can still get to it.  I'm really looking forward to this new year!  Thanks for reading and Happy New Year!
