Hi! I have some exciting news to share today! Cheryl and I are now Brand Ambassadors for Perfect Layers! Click the link or the banner on the right or bottom of this blog to see what Perfect Layers are about if you are unfamiliar with them. There is a video which can explain how these rulers work much better than I can. I just tried out my new set of rulers last night to create mats/layers for today's card.
Sorry if the pictures are a bit dark. I really wanted to try the rulers out! Each ruler creates different size mats.
I usually mat my papers one sixteenth of an inch all around.
I had cut some paper to size and glued it to the cardstock I wanted to use.
Then I placed my ruler so that my paper would catch in the lip of the ruler and I cut the excess cardstock off with my xacto knife.
I did that for all the sides and came out with a nice mat for my paper.
This is how I had my papers positioned without any mats. It's still pretty cute but I love how adding some layers really make the card/papers and images pop. Layers can also create some cohesiveness too.
This is my final card with all the mats I created using the Perfect Layers rulers. I'm also so happy that I got The Greeting Farm's Cheeky Geeky! I hope they come out with an Anya with glasses too. Anyway, I colored her up in purple shades with Copics. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and I thought I'd give this to one of my kids' teachers at the end of the school year. I added some purple crocheted lace on the bottom to tie in the purple color a bit more since I couldn't really find purple paper.
I added some black pearls around the image and bling on her glasses. Also added glossy accents on her glasses and ponytail holders.
Used the Deconstructed Sketch 51 for this card. I love Jen's sketches!
Also entering this card into All That Scraps Challenge -- Anything Goes, 7 Kids College Fund Challenge #47 -- Color Me Purple! and Anyone For Anya? -- Something Lacy.
I know this was a bit of a long post but just wanted to share our new tools! And if you're interested we do have a coupon code which is this&that5% that you can enter at checkout. There is a facebook page you can check out too!
Thanks so much for reading!

Happy Spring from Simply Anya
Hi! It's another sunny day here. And it's not too hot yet so I'm not gonna complain. The card I have to share today was inspired by TGF's Case Any Challenge DT. I chose to case a card by Margie HERE. It's actually one of her older cards but I really liked all the kraft cardstock and the layout too. I also wanted a spring time card to go along with 7 Kids Challenge -- Shades of Spring and Ribbon Carousel Challenge 47 -- Spring is in the Air. And of course butterflies go so nicely with the spring theme so this is also for Flutter by Wednesday #197 -- open challenge.
Here's the little card I made using Simply Anya that I received for my last TGF win. She's so adorable and so versatile for any occasion.
I added some tiny pearls as her earrings. I thought about sticking something in her hands (she's just like Fancy Anya) like an Easter basket or something or maybe even a flower but kept it simple. I love this paper pad from Doodlebug called Hello Spring. It's got the cutest little patterns! I ended up flipping the elements of my card compared to Margie's one because I loved the little birdies on the patterned paper and I wanted them to be more visible.
I added some twine and a pink bow. The tiny tag and sentiment are from PTI. And the tiny butterflies from Martha Stewart.
