More baby items...

Hello!  Eva is probably working hard this week on her secret final project for the TGF Royalty Contest!  So in the meantime, I thought I should actually post the baby card and boxes that I made.  I'm such a crafting slug this summer (well, actually most of the time).  I almost forgot to take pictures of these before I gave them away.

But I love our blog!  Eva does all the hard work making all these awesome projects, and I say, "oh cute, let me try that!"  Of course it doesn't turn out looking as cute as Eva's, and it's way more work than I thought, and at some point I just say, good enough for me.
Remember Eva's cute teachers' gifts?  I thought those were the cutest gift baskets so I wanted to make some baby ones.  This was actually the third and last basket I made.  I think I was running out of steam and ran out of ideas on how to decorate it.  I borrowed the color and pattern inspiration from Becky Oehlers who had a sample in the handout included with the template.  The tag is made from the Wonky Rectangles Nestability (thanks, Eva!), PTI limitless layers, and the boy baby from TGF.  I hand cut the banner...which is why the tails look uneven...so I finally caved and bought the PTI banner dies.
So this is the girl version of the basket.  I actually made the first trial basket out of thinner cardstock and it turned out to be kind of flimsy, so I ended up giving it to my daughter to just play with.  So I tried PTI cardstock for this basket and it totally feels a lot sturdier.  You will probably see me using this girl baby paper over and over again, I have a bunch leftover from when I was made my daughter's first birthday favors.  The tag is the heart doily die from Cheery Lynn with a teddy bear from the TGF baby set.
And here is the card...in a totally not matching color.  But again, remember Eva's cute pop up card?  I thought that was neat too.  I didn't realize there were so many little pieces in the pop up mechanism, I was getting a little confused as to what was the background and what was popping up, and what would it look like laying flat.  So I just stuck to simple rectangles.
And here it is standing up, I guess the pink rectangle now looks asymmetric, oh well.

Happy 4th of July to everyone!  Have a nice holiday weekend!  I hope I don't melt in this heat!
